Welcome to the Research Impact & Scholarly Communication track

This track is a set of five free, open courses for researchers, postgraduate students, and the librarians who support them. It picks up where the foundational Information-Literacy courses leave off — helping you not just find research, but build a career around producing and sharing it.

What you will gain

  • A clear, credited researcher identity (ORCID and beyond);
  • The ability to read research metrics critically — and use them responsibly;
  • Confidence with the major citation databases;
  • Practical ways to promote your work and track its reach;
  • A grounding in open science and fair research assessment.

How it works

Every course is free, open (no login needed), and self-paced. Each lesson includes a worked example, a hands-on “Try it”, and a link to a trusted free resource.

This Start Here course is your map. Read the next two pages, then begin.
