The five courses, in recommended order

You can take them in any order, but this sequence builds logically — from who you are to how research is judged to the bigger picture.

  1. Building Your Researcher Identity — claim your ORCID and profiles first, so everything you do from now on is correctly credited to you.
  2. Understanding Research Metrics — make sense of the numbers (impact factor, h-index, altmetrics) used to judge research, and their limits.
  3. Citation Databases & Bibliometric Tools — the engines behind those numbers: Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar.
  4. Enhancing & Promoting Your Research — get your work published well, made open, shared, and seen.
  5. Open Science & Responsible Research Assessment — the capstone: open, transparent, fairly-judged research.
